An Exceptionally Fulfilling Learning Experience
As one of her students since kindergarten, Sydney Marcy remembers learning under Ms. Butterfield for as long as she can remember.
Under Ms. Butterfield, I had an exceptionally fulfilling learning experience. She always framed learning as something to be excited about, as a way to better yourself and your surroundings, and that outlook has greatly influenced my views on education and my motivation today. I fondly remember her art classes as a place where we as students could come together and learn and express ourselves.
One of the most influential things I learned from Mrs. Butterfield is the importance of positivity and having a positive attitude in everything I do. She always really emphasized in her teaching the idea that our attitude shapes our lives and shapes the situations we find ourselves in. We can either look at an obstacle as an insurmountable setback or as a challenge waiting to be taken on, and, either way, we are right. I learned from her to approach life as an opportunity and as an adventure and to work as hard as I can to make every day a good day.
Mrs. Butterfield has prepared me for the future by teaching me to delight in challenges and to tackle the things that scare me head on. She showed the importance of working hard with a purpose, of finding what you love to do and then doing it always to the best of your ability.
